I believe in a whole school approach to mental health which involves pupils, parents and staff and I would like to offer your school the opportunity to provide a safe and secure place for your pupils, families and staff to access mental health therapy, support and training.

 

I am offering a package for schools which would be flexible according to your needs but would include a personalised range of;

 

  • One to one long term psychotherapy sessions for individual pupils.

  • Parenting support for your families.

  • Family sessions for families struggling as a unit.

  • One to one supervision sessions for staff in order to support them with their daily challenges.

  • Regular group supervision sessions for staff to support them with their approach to mental health in their classrooms.

  • Staff training on a variety of aspects of mental health, behavioural difficulties or the impact on young people of living through trauma.

Why me?

I have over 20 years experience working with children, young people and families. I am a qualified teacher who taught in mainstream and EBD special education for seven years before having my own children. I also worked as a Parent Support Professional for five years before doing my clinical Psychotherapy training.

I have a Masters in Psychological Therapies and a Clinical Masters from the NHS Tavistock and Portman Foundation Trust in London, qualifying me to work as a Psychodynamic Psychotherapist with children, adolescents and families.
 

Through my extensive experience in schools I have seen that there is a mental health need in schools that is simply not able to be met by current provisions. Thresholds for children and young people to access CYPS/ CAMHS have been raised and there are a substantial number of pupils who are now unable to access mental health support. This is impacting on teaching and learning as well as projected outcomes for children and young people in the future.
